Hello

I'm Marissa Kitson. I studied Classical Guitar Performance and Composition at the Victoria Conservatory of Music and have taught music for 20 years in Victoria BC.

I served on two fine arts boards: The Victoria Guitar Society, a BC-registered non-profit society and a Canadian registered charity whose aim is to provide high-quality public performances and increase the musical development and accessibility of the classical guitar, and also the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival, a volunteer-based organization dedicated to working with performing arts educators to develop artistic skills and a love of the performing arts for all ages and skill levels in music, dance, and speech arts.

I love to teach and also enjoy focusing on my passion projects, some of which include building a Music Academy and launching an Internet Radio Station and Community Website.

My Aim

Music is a universal language that connects us all. It has the power to motivate, inspire, and uplift us, and it serves as a way to process our emotions. Learning to play an instrument requires focus, dedication, and precision, and it teaches us the invaluable lesson of setting goals and achieving them.

My aim is to help empower other musicians to share their gifts with the world by providing them with various platforms to showcase their talents. I wish to offer education, resources, and valuable assistance to help them launch or revitalize their careers so that they can focus on what truly matters: sharing their music with others.

I believe that music has the power to transform lives and inspire positive change in the world. That is why I strive to create a community that recognizes and honours all stages of musical development, regardless of age or experience level, and that fosters growth, learning, and collaboration among all members.

In conclusion, I am dedicated to supporting my fellow musicians by providing tools and resources we need to express ourselves authentically and to our full potential.
